Not great. Aside from the incredible makeup and prosthetics, this was a lifeless and actually pretty ugly looking attempt at reimagining a classic. I wondered how a Planet of the Apes film could feel like a Burton film, this shows that, and that it doesn't work together. Mark Wahlberg isn't that great of a lead, the best performances coming from Paul Giamatti and Tim Roth as 2 apes. I really don't know if that ending was shitty or pretty cool but it leaves a huge plot hole that will never be addressed since this was replaced by a far better reboot in Rise
