  The first half of the movie has barely enough plot to get to the next song, then the second half is mostly plot and no songs. Some of the music is great (e.g. Lionel Hampton, Louis Armstrong, and Tommy Dorsey as themselves), but it's not really a strong movie overall.

  This was very silly. Fiona's bit about weight was jarring, but most of the rest of the movie holds up comedically.
