  It’s very fitting that roughly 50 years later Germany is in big trouble and nobody knows what to do about it. Germany needs an economic miracle right now and the odds don’t look good. Shocker

  Such a beautiful film, that I can deeply relate to as a once Jewish kid who spent a lot of time growing up in towns with a heavy Jewish population and also in towns where I was the only Jew.   I still swear by this movie a decade after I saw it for the first time when I was either a freshman or sophomore in high school. Everything about it makes me love it. Charlie was/is a mirror of myself, he is observant, curious, and very reflective, feeling like an outsider even within his own family.
