I’m sorry like this is no shade to Halle at ALL. But I genuinely remember feeling so frustrated with how they tried to force her into the group like…no shade…but I was not here for it and the corny song she wrote……..

Either way…this one is just cringe funny and I eat it up everytime.

Exceptionally provocative and tense but is a muddled perspective of a woman’s power. I think all the characters are portrayed well but the script isn’t as strong as I’d liked it to be.

When Romy is honest with Jacob about the affair and her longing for something she cant quite piece together, that’s when I realized the movie needed more of that kind of attention to the character’s actions.

Loved the atmosphere though. Nothing like a working NYC background to set the mood.

Very beautifully shot and organized movie. I was expecting it to be more interesting but maybe I just need to watch again.

What a fascinating score for a noir. I assume there’s some cultural history behind the guitar-esque symphony and though it doesn’t match the scenes (in my opinion), it does bring a fresh perspective I haven’t seen in previous noirs with the more ominous orchestral scores.

A sharp, pit-stop of a movie that truly benefits from the witty writing. Luckily enough, the actors are able to handle their own with the space they’re given. I love one room setting movies, it allows more attention on the acting and dialogue, you’re not easily distracted. Even while the runtime is under 90 minutes, the pacing is just right and nothing seems in a rush to the end.

Great chemistry between Gabrielle (Bette) and Alan (Leslie).…
