I don’t know what the hell this movie is even about, nor will I try to dissect it. But what I do know is that I liked everything I saw. Chaos
Not a damn thing about this movie is remarkable or noteworthy.
It’s just a typical teenage coming of age story about acceptance but gay. Which, hey, that’s good.
Even the gays deserve barely above average no-noise films, it’s part of the normalization of LGBT+ folk in the world.
Not everything needs to be a Brokeback Mountain or Call Me By Your Name.
Not everything regarding the LGBT+ community needs to be painful, heartbreaking, or supremely thought provoking. This movie has one job and one job alone, and it does well in saying: “gays, they’re just like us!”
Because they are.

Not only am I not one to ever give "perfect" or "full" ratings or scores for anything, I am also not someone who often revisits a film after watching it once to watch it again.
This movie, however, is flawless. Never has a movie drawn me back to it in such a way that "Call Me By Your Name" has.
From the acting, the editing, the score, the location, this movie hits every single mark for me.

I haven´t enjoyed a movie starring Sandler this much since that movie with the remote that controlled time.
Like many people have, I had long written Sandler off as being a sometimes-funny character actor. Which was fine, that´s his lane.
But I like being wrong sometimes, and he really played an uncompelling character brilliantly.
