This movie was a mixed bag for me. I enjoyed the characters and the dialogue, but the plot lost me. I got so lost in the sauce, I had to look up an explanation for the ending after the movie was over. Maybe I was tired, or maybe the plot was fuzzy. Overall I liked the vibes.

Dìdi (弟弟) 2024
Cute movie about adolescence, which was very relatable when I realized I was the same age as the main character (loosely based on the director). The dialogue was very believable and the acting was good which is difficult to achieve with a cast of kids. My only thing is, the story felt like one I'd seen before, and it didn't have as much of an impact on me overall. Still a good movie, especially if you enjoy coming-of-age!

I did not expect to love this as much as I did. The characters, the dual arcs, the message... Chef's kiss. I wanted to watch it again as soon as it finished. My review is mostly based on my feelings and experience, and not the actual movie making (which was good but not mind blowing/revolutionary).

I went in with low hopes and it really worked in my favor! I really enjoyed this! After watching the stage version last year, my main critique was that it felt so RUSHED! Glad they fleshed the characters out more. I laughed, I cried, Ariana was a good choice for Galinda, and I think I will watch it again. Super fun and now I have the songs stuck in my head on repeat!
