  Watching this and Jurassic Park back to back was such a vibe. In the 90s even the blockbusters tried to be art. 

  I am so thankful to be a 90s baby, even though I just barely am (‘98)! The media that was popular then still defines pop culture.

  Inject this into my VIENS! 

  Many of these scenes capture the magic of the first one. It was awesome to catch up with surfing history after leaving it in the 60s with the original. The whole time while watching I’m just filled with such a feeling of thankfulness that I grew up next to the water. I truly feel blessed! 

  I didn’t really love the skits. There, I said it.

  Wow. Every frame of this movie is worthy of being printed as a poster. The score is subtle and heroic and epic. The animation has such a look with the colors popping like no other Ghibli movie.

  What’s so cool about the story is that there really isn’t a right or wrong side. Nature is justified, but does some bad things, and same with the humans. Miyazaki’s environmentalism really shines through in this one, having SO many out there and…
