  After a slow, confusing, and pretty shitty start this turned into a psychological thriller where Johnny Depp was the only man for the job. Reminded me a lot of the Machinist, another classic, but with all the strange characteristics Johnny brings to the film. Pretty predictable but still a solid movie overall

  If you’re not interested in waiting a few hours of your life, don’t watch this movie. It is an absurd attempt at being artistic and abstract but makes zero sense. The original conflict is cool but they completely abandon it halfway through and switch so an absurd plight with mental health and fearing your own death. Shit made no sense and was ass.

  Any Christian Bale movie is an automatic hit and I’ve always heard about this one but never got around to watching it. Seeing him at 120lbs is ridiculous and makes it such a convincing character. I only wish the villain was portrayed differently and that it was more fucked up.

  The Happening 2008

  The first half of this movie was pretty attention grabbing. Really fucked up plot with no resolution I could think of. Characters were interesting enough to care about them and be nervous about their survival. The second half of the movie was a completely letdown. Spoiler alert, there is no solution. The ending makes the movie pointless and it feels like the plot was written by a climate activist who has no solution to offer and instead just points out the obvious problem.
