  2 hour 37 minute theatrical cut. The first minutes of this movie are a revelation. The montage of Ali training and reminiscing while Same Cooke sings really grounds the film in time and place. It captures a cultural moment. At its best this movie really feels like a snapshot of a man becoming a legend. This felt really underbaked character wise but very well directed.
