Got to see this one in theaters and it was really invigorating. Non-stop visual delights and a Joe Hisaishi score can’t really be beat in a proper theater setting.

I get a little lost in the weeds with the Emperor we never see, but otherwise I’m totally tuned in.

It leaves the subtlety at the door and I love that.

“I don’t want to become a demon!” is one of the most viscerally distressing moments in any movie I’ve seen.

Yakul deserves to become the next God of the forest.

An ultimate comfort movie for me.

Sure, a lot of it doesn’t add up. Sure, his partner and his job shouldn’t have taken him back. I don’t care.

I feel God inside me. Or is that just an anal-dwelling butt-monkey? Either way I have a wonderful time with this movie.

The absurdity is through the roof and permeates through every aspect of the show. Nothing is normal. It’s a fever dream with the perfect amount of a through line.

    Shoutout to Ronkonkoma.

A perfect experience of humor, tension, and raw emotion. A movie with no underscore or needle drops because it requires no extra material to aide in the expression of its characters. The performances leave nothing to be desired. Al Pacino’s performance in particular is one-of-a-kind.

Very pleased at how progressive the gay/trans portrayals are. Delightful, unexpected cherry on top.
