Really enjoyed this! It felt a lot funnier than the other Terrifiers and was pretty much non-stop shenanigans and gore. Really, it was so non-stop that there wasn't much plot, and the returning characters from the other films didn't have much to do until the end, but it's easy to forget about this when Art is so wonderful to watch and the film is bursting with creativity.

    ★½

for a romcom, it lacks both romance and comedy, and manages to be neither endearing nor funny
there are definitely a couple of emotional scenes towards the end, but the saddest part of the film is definitely just that writer-director joachim trier, a man in his late 40s, casually admits to us through his protagonist that he doesn't think his partners usually ever enjoy giving him oral sex or getting him hard
the protagonist herself is a very dull woman…

it's tragic, but certainly not hard to watch, and it's comic, but certainly not vapid
sometimes it's sad and funny at the same time, and sometimes it's just sad or just funny, but the script always balances this perfectly as it digs into the contradictions of our social lives, as well as our absurd struggle for meaning against the smallness of existence

martin mcdonagh's best film by far as well as one of the best of 2022
