  makes total sense this was produced by ari aster.

  a cute little romp. i think this was the longlegs prequel. the “professor delivering a lesson that is a setup for the rest of the movie” trope came through! the camera/editing work was SO COOL and very inspired. last time i dreamt about nicholas cage, he took my declaration of virgindependence.

  movies love to do a sad ass moment or something shocking, cut to black, jolly/happy song for the credits.

  WHY DO I WATCH SCARY MOVIES ALONE

  give it up for hugh grant, obviously. 

  a little heavy-handed on the metaphors. the closer a horror movie is to 90 minutes the better.

  does this count as deus ex machina?

  robert pattinson they will never make me hate you

  bong joon ho, if you are reading this (i know you are), please stick to original scripts. so much telling and not showing. i didn’t have any strong feelings except the obvious trump metaphor. the character i felt the most for was the CGI aliens. congrats to toni collette for delivering her dumb lines with vim and vigor. i’ll just rewatch parasite.
