Sonic the Hedgehog 3 2024
Just a solid family movie with characters you like and are happy to watch do whatever for 90 minutes. Honestly, the evolution of these movies is getting freakishly close to the Fast franchise, and that's probably the right move. They keep popping one of these out every other year, and I'll keep taking my kids to see them.

Instead of following the traditional sequel path of going deeper into the lore, this one basically runs the scenario over again with a fresh protagonist, but spends the entire film going deep into that characters trauma and agency. Naomi Scott is basically giving a one-woman tour de force, she's outstanding, and the craftsmanship in the filmmaking, the cinematography, score, choreography, costumes, lighting, all make this a huge step up from the original.
