Vanilla Sky 2001
i wish there was an endless pit of cameron crowe directed movies that take on the energies of this and almost famous. something about that early early 2000’s stuff that tickles my brain in all the right ways. he captures that essence so well. perfectly silly while also taking itself juuuust as seriously as it should. worth a rewatch at some point. lots of memorable lines. would recommend actually but not for everyone.

two goats of actressing going toe to toe for sure. i feel like this whole thing somehow went flying over my head maybe? really trying to piece together why ppl like this. can we talk abt the music? might be the worst use of music i've ever witnessed in any film ever no exaggeration. tryna act like the whole thing is one big mystery. maybe it is...? just cause you make a movie that centers around childhood traumas doesn't mean it's deep or good.
