  The 400 Blows 1959

  The camaraderie between Réné and his friend is so organic and good natured. Acting by the child actors in simply incredible. The score throughout punctuated the emotions of the scenes well. First time watching with a friend more learned than I on the history and specifics on cinema. I can understand why this film has gotten the prestige and love it has gotten.

  Sound is bad, acting is woody, and story is crap. I had fun with friends watching this in parts, only because it is easy to mock. Having 1/5 scenes be porn was a bad decision. Really just a croc of shit all round. Any reason to see this movie? No.

  I was looking forward to this film. The idea of a future NYC architect taking inspiration from Rome is so good. This movie struggles, the story at times is weird to experience. Personally my movie theater didn’t do the live person thing so maybe that’s what’s stopping this from being rated higher. Performances are good, but when both motivation and explanatory reasoning are lacking what matters if the spread is beautiful yet rotten inside? Why the Thomas Beckett reference? The…

  Opening is very strong; nice theological dialogue with good points and room for discussion. Horror is horror and there’s a lot to hor at here.
