If I don’t have a date on a film it means I don’t remember when exactly I watched it.

While some of the effects haven’t aged as well as other films of this era, the cast of this film and the premise behind it more than make up for it, as the tension the characters feel that they’re under permeates the entire movie.

Also, it has plenty of time to bleed.

Parts of this film do grate me as it’s a product of its time, and Buford T. Justice as a name just seems like they couldn’t afford Roscoe P. Coltrain, but Burt Reynolds and Sally Field have charisma that I enjoyed quite a bit that keeps me engaged and let’s this be a fun movie.

Also, now I want a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am.

Honestly, I want to give this film five stars, but certain things like some of the effects and one specific scene of Deckard with Rachel knocks it down just a notch.

Probably what sells me the most is the performance of Rutger Hauer as Roy Batty. His motivations are clear, and the end of his story is beautiful, haunting, and quite honestly has left me in a state of both shock, heartbreak, and a deep level of thought.

This film starts out as a joyous gathering among friends and ends in heartbreak. It starts slowly and you can feel it building to something you don’t expect until it’s in front of you and everyone has to pick up the pieces.
