  Quick mini review just to update:
  I have nothing significant to add to my last review from about 10 days ago other than reinforcing that it is simply better to watch with people when possible. On this rewatch with my wife, I’m bumping it up a half star; humor just sells better with other people reflecting the vibes.
  This and Clerks have started something of a Kevin Smith run for us (she isn’t ready for Yoga Hosers). I might try to 100% Kevin Smith on this app this year.

  Thoughts: If Trash Humpers is in no way familiar to you, if you can’t relate in any way… that’s probably a good thing. But for me, some of the places I’ve lived, people I’ve met, and things I’ve seen make this disturbingly outrageous lo-fi pseudo doc all too real. In fact, the video and editing styles, as abysmal as they are objectively, fit the film precisely and eerily.
  It’s an exaggerated depiction of certain people in certain places, especially at certain times. How exaggerated? Just depends on when and where.

  Watch conditions: home with wife (her first watch). This one came up after watching a few other dialogue-centric films.

  Thoughts: Surprisingly, this rewatch was not as effective. I have two theories as to why. 
  1. This was my first real viewing since the development of my prefrontal cortex. The clusters of idiosyncratic lines don’t pop like they did in my early 20s. It’s just not that deep. Much funnier to my younger cro-magnon brain.

  Watch conditions: home with a 6-person watch party. 48 hours after wife and I watched. Pizza party, perfect group movie food.
