Marriage Story 2019
Marriage story is the most grounded and real story told in years. The screenplay tells the tale of two people's struggle in their time of separation. Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson deliver their best performances to date. Adam delivers the inner sadness of his character extremely well. And Scarlett performs as though she has deep personal ties with the material which does wonders for her Performance overall. The score is while simple, perfectly fits the tone of the character's relationship.…

The Lighthouse 2019
A truly mesmerizing piece of cinema acted masterfully by Willem DaFoe and Robert Pattinson. On a technical level the film achieves a very griddy, yet beautiful, and visceral style to complement the already dark tone. The comedy interjected into the film gives it a very cynical appeal that in my opinion supplements the film even further. All in all, The Lighthouse is the best written, acted, shot, and directed film of the year and is my pick for Best Picture.
