Enjoyable but vapid, deeply formulaic and almost completely lacking any real depth... Credit to Timmy though.
Going to win best picture IMO.

Technically really impressive given the small budget (10 million!). Some beautifully shot sequences throughout and really well paced, meaning I never had the feeling it was too long.
The first half was mostly great but a number of strange tonal shifts in the second ultimately left it feeling quite empty and thematically blunt. Ridiculous epilogue too.
Will likely be studied as the text in the Oscar bait canon.
Had pretty high expectations after the reviews and all the glorious, brooding exposition of the first so was ultimately left a bit disappointed. Definitely not as beautifully shot as the first (although perhaps intentional) and the scenes in Arrakis - most of the film - were a little too run-of-the-mill. The endless stream of A-listers introduced also felt increasingly jarring as the film went on.
Some really good moments, some extremely rushed, and not quite enough for it to be a truly great film.
