Mickey Spillane isn't the strongest actor, but he brings a good mix of competence and credulity to the character. Shirley Eaton plays the widow of a dead Senator who gets dragged into the case, and she is really charming in the role. This movie came out the year before she would be in Goldfinger, and like that movie, this one makes sure to show off her toned body in several bikinis. I enjoyed the central mystery which required a lot of detective work (an aspect of detective movies that is often lacking), but the resolution fell flat for me.
