  It’s always great when a film has a simple storyline on the surface but as you analyse the film more it turns into so much more. Under the surface is a very dense character study mainly on Jesse Eisenberg and Jeff Daniels characters. Themes dealt with and tackled uniquely include loneliness and a somewhat unhealthy parent- child relationship.
