A story of a woman grieving the malicious acts of her son and searching for someone to just listen to her. While it looks beautiful and is darkly funny in its writing, I don’t think cinema adds anything to this story that already exists as a play. The Editing chose to hang onto space/time ineffectively which results in this movie runtime to feel twice as long as it does.

By the time the final scene arrives, I had lost interest. Which is a shame, because the final scene was filled with great acting from Judy Geer and Nation Sage Herikson.

An incredible example of using non-linear storytelling to illustrate the complexity (and horrors) of war and results from rape when used as a weapon of war and how it can create generational trauma. Impressed this wasn’t necessary a thriller rather more a mystery film. Powerful film. Haunting film.

Without a doubt this the best film I’ve seen from Denis Villeneuve.

Once again…If you are going to do a musical you need to commit to doing a musical. Do not give me these half-assed garbage songs.

Additionally, this film is ugly and looked like some 2010s gang film my roommates would watch in college.

I do not want this film anywhere near the LGBT community. I rebuke this.

    “It called, and you answered.”

Another special film about the horrors of being divorced from your art.

So yes, I cried and loved it.

Amy Adams is an absolute force of nature in this film. She is witty, smart, and - most importantly - ferocious as she undergoes the scary transformation of motherhood.
