Just a banger, I love how much the film goes out of its way to show how cool Harrison Ford is and how much everyone loves him. There’s a lot of little stuff that gives some nice flavour to the background too, like the hospital being busy because of a bus crash, that makes it feel like this is a real world beyond the characters on the screen.
We need to bring back people asking “Is this a [x] convention?” when they walk into a room of people wearing similar clothes. Also Joe Pantoliano with one of the best movie jumpers at the beginning there.

The more I think about this one, the more I like it. Actually I’ve been thinking about it more the past couple of days and it’s a five star movie for sure.
People are predictably mad about the end reveal. And it’s such a good litmus test of “is this person against this for their own bigoted beliefs, or for some culture war bullshit” because the reveal is in no way objectionable for any Catholic who has actually been watching…

Great stuff, I went in with high expectations and they were all met. Pattinson deserves an Oscar for the dinner scene alone. Ruffalo played probably the best Trump/Mussolini pastiche I’ve seen on screen, everyone has such a unique and over the top personality. Also the alien lads looked great. Somehow feels like a mix between Okja, Snowpiercer and Nausicaa.
