  cinematography is beautiful—but that’s basically a given considering the setting / environment. i guess i love when nostalgia captures a sense longing and unplaceable grief but this film leans into a nostalgia with comfortability, boredom, politeness….  it felt a little uninspired. maybe I’d like to see the director apply this ambient style to a stronger narrative rather than just a pensive reflection of a summers event. why don’t i care about these people? i have cramps and hungover so perhaps…

  not to be a huge loser but the first scene reminded me of a portrait by bill hensen from his opera series and i can’t stop thinking about the tinsel in the hair (i need), the rhinestone hoops, the bokeh(lol). hilarious and fun and zippy
