Sometime in the mid90s warm tone nostalgia-internet way of life we started telling stories like this, like reaching the trauma affect moment for the boys in the way that Maggie lee’s mommy was like actually so real n traumatic to me. Incomparable tho but the response to. A neat package.

Insane acting and pacing, a work which understands its content, characters and restraint!

wow finally watched and it blew my mind the art direction is insane. truly beautiful beyond words. this fairy tale actually haunted me as a kid lol even tho idk why there is very little that's relatable in my childhood. in my very chemist warehouse primary colours frame of mind rn it was just the visual feast that i could have wanted and hoped for. i think i will continue to think about this for a long time and aspire to make work with the ease and fluidity of this film. compositionally inspiring.

basically what stu said about this. love how she's so anti intellectualisation of painting / art making. god abex artists were so cool n swag lol and i wish there was an art movement now like that where everyone is funnelled into this vacuum of making but alas the world is not post WWII anymore lol. the french v american curator / critic vibe is lit and the shock of the french that an american can understand colour re: matisse so well!!!!!!!!
