Somehow, on the first watch it feels exactly like a '90s kids movie you try to rewatch thirty years later only to discover how stupid it actually is. And I kinda love it for that? This was honestly a trippy experience, as I kept wondering what on Earth convinced Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega they should do this movie, even as I was quite enjoying it the whole way through.

I would love to be able to endorse this more strongly, but alas, I think this movie is a little too obsessed with being smart that it forgets to be fun. I had to fight off a nap despite a 93-minute run time.
Apologies to Gen Z, but this thing really could've used a sex scene.
