In the original Dating Game episode (viewable on youtube), he's the only bachelor that gives cringey sexual responses to her questions. And yet in real life, she still picked him in the show.
They seem to have chosen to flip these male responses in the film. Did they change them because it would be too unbelievable that Anna Kendrick's character would make that choice?

It may reflect badly on me that I didn't realise this was a satire while watching. Or maybe that things that seemed outrageous at the time don't have the same oomph today.
Given the time period and context, the progressive ending was a nice surprise — a positive, independent feminist message?
I'm surprised by the Letterboxd consensus on this film. It didn't do anything particularly daring, and the plot-related surprises I could see coming, but the characters were depicted well, I enjoyed their contrasts, and the scenes around Jordan were quite beautiful (particularly the desert sequence).
This film shouldn't have worked on me, but it did.
I usually try to be aware of my environment and mood when I start a film. If there are distractions, or other things on my mind, I feel that I'm not giving the film a fair opportunity.
But I ignored both when I started this film; knowingly feeling tired, with household distractions, and yet it grabbed and held my attention from the first shot.
