  Might have suffered from me watching this on practically 0 volume with the baby, but I really don't understand the point of this.

  Some pretty funny strange lines and deliveries, and Joaquin is good at what he does, but it never really answered the question of "Why, Ridley Scott, are you making this movie?"

  In all of our (correctly) apocalyptic nightmares about Trump staying in power following an election that Biden wins, whether via the Supreme Court or some other fascist foul play, we too often forget how far along the anti-democratic spectrum we already are.

  A proto-fascist Republican party already stole an election they didn't win, thanks to a right-wing Supreme Court, and then proceeded to appoint justices to the Supreme Court to gut the Voting Rights Act and allow endless corporate money…

  There's always simultaneously too much and too little to say about Dune. Having recently re-read the book and read Messiah for the first time, it was interesting to return to the film fresh on the source material.
