Robert Eggers sets the standard for thoughtfully crafted and visually stunning stories that not only fully immerse the viewer but makes them feel like they are witnessing this firsthand.

I’ve always admired how he approaches stories with deep supernatural elements and undertones. The way he blurs reality with the unnatural in a beautiful and poetic sense.

Also what the heck bro, most of these shots had me going “ok how the hell did he shoot that??”

another banger from the master 🫡

For her directorial debut this was a pretty impressive film. Well shot and timed for the most part. That parking lot scene was executed so well too.

I guess the only thing I’m hung up on is how this move is framed. It’s advertised as the story of Cheryl and how she fends off the killer but what I’m really seeing is a story that wants to be told from the perspective of the killer and his various encounters. “Woman of the Hour” seems to refer to his woman of the hour or kill of the week.

Just some thoughts. Still processing though.

Once I realized that this was a very clever use of the horror genre to explore generational grief and trauma I was hooked. Damn. This show is not only one of the best well written and well directed horror or thriller type shows I've seen but also one of the most heartfelt. The ending or reveal of that one episode literally made my jaw drop.

What the fuck was that 3rd act ?!

Sorry but this is a prime example of when the aesthetic overrides the story.
