Had me smiling and crying and giggling and just generally beaming. What a perfect example of the potential for the documentary format to convey the emotions, the setting, and, in this case, the sounds of the subject(s) it is documenting with a level of art that stands on its own, adding-to instead of just showing-what.

So generative and inspiring. And what’s better than a free potato and a good junk pile? Verde was able to pull the kid out of anyone…or maybe more accurately, to get at what lit and propelled them. Her curiosity and emotional skill is really shown through untrained actors and documentaries. She saw everyone as characters with a place.
