It took a while for this one to get going. I think every movie is made or breaks with conflict. This had a mild conflict at best. There really wasn’t a payoff and for the most part it felt pretty predictable.

What’s the message of the film? Conclave is about the universal pursuit of power—how, whenever a vacuum exists, people will vie for control, whether it’s in the sacred halls of the Vatican or any modern institution. But sometimes it’s those who don’t vie for power that receive it.

Flow is proof that even in a catastrophic flood, cats will still find a way to act like they own the place.

Flow by Gints Zilbalodis is a visually immersive, dialogue-free film that explores themes of survival, resilience, and connection. It follows a cat navigating a flooded world (Genesis 6), forming unexpected bonds with other animals as they struggle to adapt. The movie teaches that even in isolation and adversity, companionship and cooperation can bring hope and meaning.

I saw this in a theater with ten 80 year olds, and I felt 80 after the film finished, and loved every minute of it.

What’s this movie about? The betrayal of trust. The book focuses on the third person perspective from the federal agent, but the movie POV is from Molly and Ernest’s relationship. Marriage is built on trust, but can Molly trust Ernest? Is he a loving shepherd or is he a wolf? That’s one of the questions…
