  What's happening? What is this? This shouldn't work, the whole thing shouldn't work. But it does and it's baffling and beautiful.

  A film as Italian-American as Joe Pesci eating baked ziti on a plastic-covered sofa.

  The big things in this movie are great, but the little things are some of the biggest things:

  When the opera starts and Nic Cage says "here we go!"

  The old couple with a love as bright and vibrant as homemade bruschetta.

  The whole explanation of Nic Cage's grudge against his brother.

  Cher's hair.

  The fact that the same man wrote this and Doubt (2008).
