  To describe it as audacious would be an understatement. The film constantly shifts - new perspectives, new locations, new identities, new genres - and refuses to stagnate.

  This preference for change leads to a really uneven ride - not all of Emilia Perez worked for me. But it’s anchored by some committed  and against type performances that keeps you interested in what will happen next, even if you’re uninterested in what’s happening right now.

  I would’ve liked this more without the musical numbers, but that’s literally always my preference, so do with that what you will.

  Rife with small, character driven moments that give personality to our protagonist and the land they inhabit.  An honest portrayal of a contemporary "wild" west.
  Just as good on the second watch.
