This film is a grossly real depiction of drugs, how people get on them, what people will do for them, and what they do to the people on them.

This movie is so damn cool.
Bateman, bored with his unsatisfying corporate life, starts creating these grotesque fantasies. Seeing him devolve and unravel into insanity-sweating profusely, his hair messy no matter how much he tries to straighten it, and 'killing' erratically-is a polar opposite to the routined and calculated man we see at the beginning of the film. A role that demanded a lot, and Christian Bale meets the standard and then some.
