Upon logging my rewatch a few days ago, I realized that I'd never actually reviewed or logged my all time favourite film. So here goes.

Arrival is perfect in every way. As far as movie scores go, I doubt if there will ever be a more personal 10/10.

As I am writing this, I don't even know where to start. Arrival combines my love for filmmaking, linguistics, dialogue, and science fiction. One word that comes to mind to sum up…

They didn't play the Fall Out Boy song at the end. Boooooh.

I had such a fun time with this one. Is it a bit of a generic one-trick pony that does not even touch the likes of Crank? Sure, if you're expectations are that high, then yeah. But it's just good fun. It's really straightforward and it uses what it's got, which is only a handful of actors and locations, to their fullest extent. Especially Jack Quaid. I am…

There is a lot to be said about the representation of neurodiversity, both positive and negative.

I did not find it offensive in the slightest, being diagnosed with autism myself. Sure, it's a bit stereotypical and far from accurate, but hey. It's a movie. A movie where someone on the spectrum kicks ass. I think that's cool.

    Bye bye bikey.

Oh my goodness, I loved this waaaay more than I thought I would.

Simon Rex is such a charming moron, the production design and cinematography were so friendly and colourful, and the whole film is just so hilariously ridiculous and absurd. And the quick-witted editing, spitfire dialogue, and smooth, nonsensical plot is nothing but delightful. I went into this dumb-ass film completely blind and I loved every second of it.

    Yes, I reaaally like this.

Not only is this an expertly shot, produced, and cast Dutch film, it also resumes and concludes the narrative that the series started. The overall tone and spot-on dialogue is the same as it is in the series, which is amazing.

But above all else, this is a fantastic character study. I have such a profound disability to understand people like Anne, but I do recognize Anne's character in daily life. The way she interacts…
