I really wanted to like this movie. I've always been a huge Taika fan but this feels like the first time he's really struggled with tone. A lot of the comedy feels forced and even though a decent amount of it lands, it doesn't make it a good movie. It feels like it's in denial about its own emotional core and uses comedy to distract and cover up what's going on (almost like Thor's issue but they never seriously addresses it!!!) So yeah Bale as Gorr was amazing as expected, Russel Crowe was great, and I'm excited for Roy Kent but this frustrated and disappointed me.
