This was fun. Witty, original, well-written spy thriller. Fassbender plays cold calculating spy very well. Great supporting cast. Lots of laughs.
A little too much here’s 25 things we didn’t tell you at the end with no hints along the way, but a fun ride at a very tight 90 minutes. More films like this!
Back in 2002, a high school friend of mine recommended Memento to me as the best film they’d ever seen. I bought the DVD and a few weeks later sat down to watch it on a Saturday night with my parents (who fell asleep half way through). By the end of the film two things I knew were true:
1) I wanted to go into film/TV production.
2) I was going to watch everything Christopher Nolan directed moving forward.

This was not for me.
Let’s start with the positives: Extremely well cast, the cinematography and direction was very well done.
The rest was a mess. No real story or character development. Maybe the worst sound design in a film in ages, almost inaudible at many points due to the sound mixing.
Slow cinema should have you reflecting during and after and not just “what did I just spend two hours watching?”
