This is a great movie. It's just so damn cool. The fact that it was Michael Mann's feature film debut makes it all the more impressive. The combination of the atmosphere and James Caan's incredible performance make this movie unforgettable. The diner scene legitimately might be one of the all time great movie scenes.
The first time I watched this, I loved it. After a second viewing, I honestly think this may be one of my favorite movies of all time. It just works on so many different levels:

Requiem playing at the end is one of the all time needle drops in film. Legitimately got chills. This movie is near cinematic perfection and an absolute must watch for any music lover.
I had high hopes going into this because I've yet to see a movie directed by William Friedkin that was anything less than very good. But this was even better than I was expecting. Talk about a movie that knows how to deliver great tension...There are several sequences in this film that will have your anxiety dialed up to a 10.
