I had this movie on VHS as a kid but I remember not really liking it very much. I was more of a 1997 Batman & Robin fan. Which is funny because that movie is quite awful.

Rewatching this now, I understand why I didn’t like it as a kid. Tim Burton’s vision of Batman is an extremely loopy one. It’s like the midnight movie version of Batman. Jack Nicholson’s bizarre and outlandish performance is a big reason the movie has…

This is a great movie. It's just so damn cool. The fact that it was Michael Mann's feature film debut makes it all the more impressive. The combination of the atmosphere and James Caan's incredible performance make this movie unforgettable. The diner scene legitimately might be one of the all time great movie scenes.

The first time I watched this, I loved it. After a second viewing, I honestly think this may be one of my favorite movies of all time. It just works on so many different levels:

    Incredible music ✅
    Great acting ✅
    Beautiful and vibrant visuals ✅
    A terrifically entertaining & compelling story ✅

Requiem playing at the end is one of the all time needle drops in film. Legitimately got chills. This movie is near cinematic perfection and an absolute must watch for any music lover.

I had high hopes going into this because I've yet to see a movie directed by William Friedkin that was anything less than very good. But this was even better than I was expecting. Talk about a movie that knows how to deliver great tension...There are several sequences in this film that will have your anxiety dialed up to a 10.

It's also a fantastic looking movie. It's filmed in such a classic and aesthetically pleasing way...I'm not even sure…
