Stellar acting from Odessa A’Zion (as anyone who saw the new Hellraiser will know) and Leslie Bibb. The horror is unfortunately mostly jump scares, and the twist is projected well ahead of the end. There are also way too many men and boys alive by the end and way too many queer women dead who I was totally rooting for. But worth a watch for the performances alone.

This was a four star movie with some reservations about the graphic sexual violence. Then we got the reveal and now here we are. Why you gotta have a brutal indictment of the patriarchy then go “jk a crazy woman did it.”
I really can’t express how much “surprise Rumi did it” undermines her presence as the only woman (and only person) who can see Mima’s suffering let alone offer her empathy. How it turns the secondary story of Rumi…Translated from by
