Caught this in theaters again on the Best Picture circuit.

To me this is the pinnacle of cinematic entertainment.

I’ll add this: the target audience here is fans of the source material. The more I watch this, the more I realize I do *not* have a firm grasp on the plot, especially the details surrounding the BG/KH stuff. I feel like a like of massaging is done in the book.

I started the audiobook this week, and I look forward to rewatching when I’m done.

One point for David Del Rio’s reprise as Manny for making me actually laugh a couple times. Seriously, this actor gets it!

And then the 0.8 is for this:

     - “It seems like money grows on trees in the city .”

     - “Only for those rich enough to plant them.”

Otherwise, character motivation was even thinner than the last film. And there’s still no Christmas in this! That’s the only reason why I watched it!

    Sad.

No spoilers, but I’m confident that fans of both the original and the Herzog film will love this.

And I’m happy to see Aaron Taylor Johnson in a movie this good.
