  Kirsten Johnson’s unexpected followup to 2006’s John Tucker Must Die—while a drastic tonal departure from its predecessor—is sad, poignant, and truly unique. I recommend watching on your own so you can quietly sob as you contemplate your parents’ mortality, rather than watching this with your parents after Thanksgiving leftovers (like I did) while your father make comments about how “Dick” and “Johnson” are both euphemisms for “penis.”
