  If you’re looking for a film about healthy male friendship and comradery this is absolutely not it.

  This is instead quite a tough and uneasy introspection and dissection of 1970s middle aged masculinity. The men in this film are in no way likable but callous, disrespectful  and obnoxious. Cassavetes does an incredible job at showing us the uncomfortable and uneasy sides of male bravado and ego not many choose to show.
