  The Ring 1952

  A story which deserves far better than what it got in this film. Sure, Rita Moreno is quite good in her barely-a-supporting-role here, but jeez, the boring direction and horrendously stiff acting of Lalo Ríos gave this a TKO. There is still plenty of fertile ground to explore regarding latino racism in the mid-century. And the scenes which feature Tommy's friends (all of whom were better actors than Ríos) interacting with cops and racist SoCal-ers was pretty fascinating.
  Such a shame to have this wasted opportunity.

  Nifty & breezy retelling of Othello in the 60's London Jazz scene. While McGoohan's accent is miserable, he exudes the slimeball darn well in these Johnnie/Iago machinations. But having Dave Brubeck & Charlie Mingus carefully, lovingly captured on film is icing on the cake.

  Jackass: The Movie 2002

  I was there opening weekend. However, I'd never seen Jackass' MTV iteration. Walking into this mindless entertainment was unexpected then, but somehow still as enjoyable 10 years later... with the exception of the Snow Cone & the Papercuts. Because I'm still as much of a wuss as I was 10 years ago & can't watch those.
