I feel like this is one of Wes Anderson's least liked films, I watched it for the first time many years after release. When I finally caught up to it I was surprised that it was totally in my wheelhouse haha, so I probably rate it higher than most. I think I'm in the midst of a Wes Anderson rewatch for the year so queued this one up and found it just as rewarding as the first time I watched it.

The Boy and the Heron 2023
Suprisingly, as dark as the subject matter got, the Miyazaki film it reminded me most of was My Neighbor Totoro, in that in both films I was truly unaware of what to expect scene to scene. I loved the allusions to his other films and the discomfort of the journey, think this is one I'm going to enjoy revisiting.

Rushmore 1998
I can still pretty much quote this line by line, not a lot of new observations on this rewatch except:
• Miss Cross reading Kidnapped but Robert Louis Stevenson to her 1st grade class never pinged for me but seems super intense?
• Edward Appleby has a University of Houston Clear Lake poster in his bedroom.
That's it, still a classic, all-timer.

Remember the Night 1940
Wanted to like this more, I was definitely expecting something more like The Lady Eve and this one kind of lost its sharpness by the end. Still a strong start and great performances, just not one I'm likely to revisit like other Preston Sturges films.
