“We are not ideal men, but we serve an ideal.”
Work drama meets the papal selection process. A little bit of a heavy mic drop at the end, but sticks the landing quite well. Despite some dragging, this is a good watch.
The cinematography deserved an award, as did Sergio Castellitto and his insane vaping habit.

Watched this the day after I fractured my foot, so I’m definitely in my feels a bit.
Really good, but not for the way people say? I’m not convinced Hirayama is truly content - he might just be sheltered. Whenever he actually engages with the world, the cracks start to show - and culminate in a “breakdown” of sorts, by his own scale of emotions.
Still a lovely watch.
