I quite liked this one. First above average film I’ve seen this year — pretty effective ( doesn't have to be scary ) in its own right.

    Technically, it’s pretty well made.
Personally, I’m mixed on it & feel it looses its steam as it goes on.
The best thing about the film — that setting in beautiful rural Oregon ( or technically New Zealand )

The first one was pretty good — this one was pretty GREAT.
Probably my biggest surprise of the year so far. I wasn’t expecting much, but Parker Finn is a true force to be reckoned with — he’s surely proven himself here & imo should be mentioned with the modern greats of the genre. These films could have easily gone in the direction of being so generic.
Naomi Scott was also flawless in this role.

This film is not subtle—but it is in the subtleties & nuances of David Howard Thornton as Art the Clown-that make these films absolute horror gems.
Add in what Lauren LaVera brings to the character of Sienna—and we have the perfect villain to heroine combo; maybe the best since the OG nightmare on elm street.

I did like the 2cd better. There are more complaints I have with this one; but I’m too grateful for its existence to focus on them.
