I really enjoyed this largely due to Pamela Adlon’s convincing girl-to-boy transformation. Allie, a wheelchair-bound admirer, puts another twist in things by admitting he’s gay for Willy. While there are problematic issues (because it IS an 80s film), it all reads pretty queer and becomes a pretty enjoyable romp.

Marion Cotillard is amazing to watch in this film. It feels as though all of this is actually happening to her as we watch the film unfold.

The realistic quality of the filmmaking gives everything a natural immediacy. I'm not always a big fan of this approach but it works here with the quality of Cotillard's performance along with the sociological experiment which is the story.

Thank God Pee-Wee's back! I watched this on the big screen as it deserves. Joe Mangianello is great and the balloon gag had people crying.  I loved it and, yes, maybe I will marry it!
