I thought it’d be wittier, funnier, and have a more epic soundtrack
Doesn’t seem like the authors thought out very thoroughly what they actually wanted to critique or if they really thought “rich people do whatever and effortlessly get away with it” is a radical thought in itself

A surprisingly complementary experience to a video game I checked out just yesterday. It was called “Where Water Tastes Like Wine” and gave me the same impression of americans simply obsessing over the Americana aesthetic while throwing around pretty random and shallowly philosophical bites and pieces of stories around and thinking it makes a meaningful artwork for some reason.

Seemed “duller than I remember” at first, but the relationship between Jim and Silver is explored so richly and meaningfully it makes the whole film a beautiful and touching experience 🌌
One of the few that have a non-romantic main line with, in fact, zero love interests for the main character - also very refreshing!
Great adaptation, simple but profound
And the visuals are sublime
