    As someone who struggles with crowds and strangers, campaigning in 1960 seems very stressful. Although this movie did make me think that maybe if the crowd is large enough its actually easy - everyone becomes such a blur.

    I was also thinking of how for each candidate each handshake is one of 10,000 that day whereas for the person on the other end its likely the most important event of their month.

    Mickey 17's premise is of your job being to die. That idea is such a natural progression to a capitalist critique like Parasite that those were my expectations going into the film. But Bong Joon Ho seems less concerned in politics than in psychology in this one.

    Politically the dystopian vision of the world is muddled with pretty obliquely utopian resolutions that I found a little too clean to swallow. The movie approaches dehumanization, colonialism, fascism. And each resolution is…
