  damn i was kinda disappointed, my least fav of bong joon-ho’s :/ i don’t think anything he makes could ever be bad, but there was too much going on, surface-level coverage of its big themes, and certain characters and ideas kinda went nowhere. also i can just never get on board with voiceover exposition. despite that, robert pattinson was really good and there were still some fun moments

  really cool to hear bertrand bonello talk a bit about how he goes about crafting the movie and music together and his process before the screening! interesting and sprawling movie, need to consolidate my thoughts a bit more

  this rocked. captured the feeling of aimlessness and isolation that everyone experiences as an early adult so well. super funny and also just a really gorgeous movie, so awesome when a classic like this is everything it’s chalked up to be and more.

  for me this movie fell somewhat short. while the set was well-done to be sure, the rest of the visuals of the film felt half-baked, the beginnings of promising ideas. what was supposed to reflect bella’s sense of whimsy, devastation, and maturity was muddled and almost goofy at times. it was honestly distracting. i also felt like this movie didn’t connect its different acts together well, in that instead of letting things develop, we are basically told what’s happening (there…
